Congratulations!

Thanks to all who participated in the local (studio only) version of our Hot Tots contest. I am thrilled with the participation in the voting. It was fun to watch the progress.

Just so you know what will happen next, I wanted to keep you updated. I am working like crazy to keep up with the new client sessions from this past weekend and already this week. I am going to give that my first priority and will get back to the Hot Tots winners after July 5th.

I've just spoken with my print lab and everything is good to go with your entries into their national contest! Wishing you blessings in that one. I have no idea who the judges are!

Congratulations everyone.

A Busy Three Year Old

I had an enjoyable time with this little girl today. We did an indoor/outdoor session for a little variety. It was nice having a three year old. They give a little more conversation than the infants do.

To end the session, we celebrated with one of those coveted BIG suckers!

Well, here's a little sneak peek...

Price Increase - well sort of

There's good news and bad news - but it's mostly good. Effective immediately, I have increased my prices by 10% for all items. The session fees will remain the same.

HOWEVER, when you order within 15 days of your preview gallery being posted online, you will receive a 10% discount. So, for those of you who are inclined to make timely decisions, there is no price increase.

Some of you are saying... "Oops, that's me" and others of you are wondering why I made this decision. Well, I know that it's not necessary to explain myself, but just in case you're wondering, I will anyway.

After a portrait session, I spend hours putting together client images for viewing. I also put all the images on my hard drive and I keep the client folder with all your paperwork and disk backups out around my desk. All of the images are then loaded to my web-server. When it takes weeks (and even months) for a client to decide what they want printed, I have to keep the folder out, the images on my hard-drive and the galleries on my web site. Truthfully, it's the paperwork that's killing me.

So, I'm going to reward those clients who help me keep a good workflow here in the office.

Any client who has yet to order and is already past 15 days, I'm going to give you a 15 day grace period starting today. You may have the discounted prices until July 5, 2007. Please have your order to me by June 29, 2007 and payment by July 5, 2007. If I do not answer the phone, please leave a message. I miss about 50% of client calls due to sessions or being out with the kids.

Thanks for understanding and helping me keep my sanity in the office. I hate paperwork and I love focusing on the fun stuff - like photographing!

A little bit of Family

Beautiful weather, a lovely setting and a wonderful family - these all came together for terrific portraits! Here's a sneak peek for you - thanks for patiently waiting to see these!

The little one in these photos recently turned one and I had the privilege to watch her grow this past year. She slept a good portion of her first photo session. I think we laughed the entire way through her 6 month session (or was it 9 months??) So, here we are at 12 months and it was a wonderful time. I just love one-year-olds. She was such a trooper and we had so much fun.

The little brown chair is my newest purchase. I though it would be perfect for the itty bitty one's who come to the studio. It worked in the great outdoors as well. I'm looking forward to using it more and more!

Enjoy these photos!

P.S. Don't forget to vote below!! Scroll down to see the entrants into the Hot Tots Contest and the local one as well.

Hot Tots - The LOCAL voting

Ok, disregard the previous blog post. I had an idea and went back to creating the poll. We will have many winners!

Here are the details: First Place, second place and third place winners will each receive a 16x20 portrait of your winning pose (unmounted print) AND a gift certificate for a complimentary session.

The next 4 places (4-7) will receive a 16x20 portrait (unmounted)
Places 8-9 will receive a coupon for a complimentary session.

If you wish to see the photos better, please click on the image and it will enlarge in a new window. Each photo is numbered. Please vote by number.

You are being asked to vote for your favorite THREE portraits. Please do not vote for more than 3. Your votes will be disqualified if you vote for more than three. You are only allowed to vote once.

This voting is ONLY for our personal, studio-only contest. The national contest that is sponsored by my pro printing lab will announce their winners on July 20, 2007. I just thought it would be fun to do a local contest as well.

In order to vote, you should pick out three photos and scroll down to the list of photo numbers. Click the button before the chosen photo numbers.

This poll will close on June 25, 2007. Thank you and blessings to all participants!

Voting.... Still coming soon

I know I promised a vote starting today....

Well, I've been trying to find a free poll for blogs that allows 24 possible options. Many only allow 10. I think I found one that I'm happy with, but it will be Saturday afternoon before I get it loaded on the site. I'm exhausted from our busy week. Thanks for understanding.

One baseball game and one more dance recital and I'll be done with my "Super Mommy who has no time to sleep or eat" routine. Saturday afternoon I can get back to our normal schedule.

It's Dance Recital Week

I've been a little overwhelmed with everything going on this week. Sorry I've been avoiding the blog (and my laundry, and house cleaning and photo editing and cooking...) This week is our Vacation Bible School (I'm leading the music) and it's also our Dance Recital week. We spend every evening rolling curlers into Sarah's hair.

Sarah is in two numbers - she's dancing to "Chattanooga Choo Choo" and also in a number called Wee Rockettes. The Wee Rockettes is pretty cute. The little girls go out and sing and dance and then the "big girls" (aka this year's Seniors) come out and dance. Then they go off and bring the little girls back on stage and dance together. It's pretty cute!

So, I did a really quick edit this afternoon and here are a couple of Sarah in her first year of dance recitals. We're really looking forward to cousin Amanda's seeing these! Sarah's so proud of herself and she's loving dance!

Coming soon --- Voting!

I've submitted all the Hot Tots portraits to my lab for printing and should receive them mid-week next week. Once I receive them, I'll attach the Entry forms that the participants filled out and send them in for judging. My print lab will judge those and announce a winner on July 20, 2007.

In the mean time............

Starting Friday, June 15 through Monday, June 25 (just 10 days) you and your friends will VOTE for our local winners in my Studio-only contest. All voting will take place here on my blog. You may only vote once, but make sure you visit the blog during the voting period to make your personal selection! All participants will receive a personal email from me when the voting begins. To the rest of you... well, just visit often and vote, ok.

One week from today, all the contestants will be online for viewing and voting. Can you feel the excitement?

Have a great weekend!

Awaiting...

This evening I had the privilege to photograph this beautiful mother-to-be. It was fun doing a maternity after all the babies I've had this month. With only a month to go, mom's looking forward to meeting her new baby girl. Hopefully the weather will stay comfortable!

Oh, and look for newborn portraits next month!

Thanks for coming in, I had a terrific time.

June Newsletter

The June Newsletter has been mailed. Please check your email boxes for the newest edition. If you are not yet signed up for the newsletter, you may view it in the newsletter archives found Here.

Pass it on to friends and family members too. Please tell them to mention that you referred them to me.

Oh, and I finally changed the colors of the newsletter too. When I first designed it, I was doing it for another photographer friend and I never bothered to change the colors to better suit me. Everything takes time!

Well, happy reading!

15 Days Old

Only 15 days old and so very, very sweet (and cooperative too!) I get a little nervous with newborn sessions once they pass the 2 week mark because they are more awake, aren't as curled up, and are generally less easy to photograph. This little one proved me wrong.

Enjoy!
