All I Want For Christmas...

...is my Two Front Teeth.

Ok, well, it's only 1 tooth, but I really wanted to be able to sing that song to Scott this year. The other top tooth is pretty loose too. He wasn't motivated enough to get it out by Christmas Eve. We explained to him that there would probably be some "bonus" gift from the Tooth Fairy if he could put teeth under his pillow the same night Santa comes.

He got it out last night. Kirk handed me the camera and said take some pictures. Well, Scott and I decided that this was studio worthy so we ran down and turned the strobes on. Definitely formal portrait worthy! LOL

The two little friends are his new Webkinz - Thanks Parrs and Leah and Randy. He loves BOTH of them! He didn't want to take missing tooth pictures without them.

Well, he still has two more almost ready to come out. Maybe we'll get a chance to "enhance" these photos with an even BIGGER missing-tooth gap.

Surprise! A 9-Month Boy.

There must have been a baby-boom of boys about 9 months ago. Ha, ha! Anyone think I was joking a couple of weeks ago when I said I had a bunch of them scheduled?

Here's yet another cute little 9-monther. He always gives me the biggest smiles. I just love his personality; he's so easy-going. Sitting among a pile of wooden blocks was by far the highlight of his time here.

Enjoy the sneak peek. I'll put the rest of the gallery online soon.

Happy 1st Birthday!

We're celebrating in the studio! He's ONE! He's also an old pro with the messy cake eating thing. LOL

We started out with the formal portraits and then moved into the cake shots. He was really much too busy to be bothered with portraits anyway. Ha, ha! I'll tell you what, once we gave him the first birthday cake, he went to TOWN. It was all I could do to keep up with him. There was a bit of cake on the floor, but an amazing amount was eaten as well.

To conclude (and to clean him up a bit) we stuck the birthday boy in the wash tub and cleaned him up. Ahhh, much better. Lots of fun in the water. I've never seen such fun (or such a mess).

Enjoy!

3 Months Old

Ok, I think I have the blog adjusted for the time being. So, it's time to do some catching up. I cranked out so many sessions just before my Christmas portraits deadline that I really fell behind on the blog. Here's another one from a couple of weeks ago.

Doesn't this little guy have the GREATEST smile? Oh I just love his energy and personality. His 6-month session will be a LOT of fun, I'm sure! Of course, when a baby decides he or she is done, they really MEAN it! LOL.... Look at the one of him in the wicker chair. He was completely DONE with me at that point. Remembering this session, I think he fell asleep in his car seat even before they left.

Thanks for looking! There's plenty more to share. Come back often.

Updating my Blog

Hi everyone! Just so you know... if the blog page looks a bit messed up for the next day or so, it's due to my attempts to update it. It shouldn't go off-line, but it will be a bit different for a short time.

Oh and are any of you getting a pop-up asking for your password? I just hit cancel and it goes away. I'll try and troubleshoot that today as well.

Have a wonderful weekend. It's snowing here today!

Family Portraits

Here's a session I did a while ago (yep I am still trying to catch up on the blog postings).

We actually just finished with this guy's 1-year baby plan. I'll try and get those up as a sneak peek later today or tomorrow. I'm going to miss seeing them. Well, so, this session was a fun one. Our intentions were to capture some photos for Christmas cards and that went pretty well. I had to play "I'm going to get you..." in order to get a smile, but hey, I love playing with little kids, so that wasn't such a bad thing. He has the best smile anyway, don't you think?

Thanks for reading!

All Smiles

This is my second session with this little princess. At her newborn session, she was really keeping an eye on me! This 3-month session was no exception (well, except during her little nap). 3-Month sessions are among the toughest and it's always nice to get an "easy" one every once in a while!

Recent Engagement

This was fun! It's not often that I get to do an engagement session. Actually, it was both a couple's session and a family session. These two are from out of town and I wish them blessings on their upcoming marriage! Thanks for allowing me to capture just a part of your relationship!

Yet another 9 month boy...

I love these little boys! They are full of life and boy do they love my wooden rocking horse. This little one was really going to town. It's funny, at this age, babies like to watch. It takes a special touch to get them to interact. Usually, when they're happy, their mouths are wide open and when they are interested in something, they give a blank stare. We finally found this little one's "giggle spot". He really enjoyed playing peek-a-boo with Mom as he looked out from behind the white apple crate.

These are already in the gallery, so go peek if you want to see the rest!

Enjoy!

I have more blogging to do... check back soon.

December Newsletter

Hi everyone. I am just going to check in quickly. Yesterday afternoon I **think** I sent out the December Newsletter. However, there are no hits in my web stats indicating that anyone has received it.

Here's the direct link to the most recent newsletter: December 2007

I need some feedback from my clients. Please let me know if you did receive the December newsletter in your email. If you aren't signed up, go ahead and do that now! Sign up! If you already know that you're in the mailing list, please comment below with a simple, "Yes, I got it" or a "No, something must be messed up, I didn't get a newsletter in my email on Thursday."

Thanks everyone! I've been gone these past two evenings at Church for our annual Boar's Head Festival. It's a Christmas program in two parts. The first half is set in a king's court and the second half is the Christmas story. I'm (of course) singing with the choir. Rachel is in it this year too. I am really excited for her. I was first in the Boar's Head Festival as a 4th grader (back in Michigan). She's probably sick of hearing me talk about it, but I absolutely love that we have this in common.

I have two performances down and 4 to go. It's much better this year for me. Anyone remember my battle with laryngitis last year? It's much more enjoyable with a full voice. Keep us in your prayers!

Oh and back to the original topic.... Please let me know if you got that email. Something seems not quite right.

Thanks a bunch!
Karen

Full of Life

Now here's a happy boy! It's a good thing Dad likes to come to the portrait sessions because he can sure get some smiles from the little guy! I absolutely love the belly-laugh smile below. I don't remember what that silly Daddy was doing, but baby sure loved it!

Oh, and I put in the photo of mom giving him a kiss because I get that SAME face from almost all the babies when mom starts smooching. I could go back through numerous sessions and find the same "Ok, Mom, if you MUST kiss me here in public" face. Priceless!!

Enjoy this quick preview! Let me know you were here!!!

9 Months (part 2)

As promised, here's part 2 of the 9 month little boys from Friday. He was another smiley guy. His main goal was to crawl off the shooting area over to the basket of toys. Grandma was over there too.

It's funny, these 9-month sessions are always so FAST. These little busy babies will only sit still for so long and I need to be really fast and decisive. We just whiz right through the poses and in no time at all, baby is done with us. I love this age though because they are usually so HAPPY!

Here's sneak-peek part two:

Don't you just love that happy scrunched nose? He's such a sweetie!

9 Months (part 1)

Hey there! Sorry I've been MIA for a while. I was really crammed before Thanksgiving with sessions and proofing and then I went out of town! I didn't have a single spare moment to submit to the blog. I'll try and get some of those images uploaded in the next couple of days.

So, Here's one of my Friday sessions for a Sneak Peek. I was in "9-month old Boy mode". I had two of them in one day. We had so much fun with this little boy. He smiled at me the whole time and we really became buddies. He was bound and determined to crawl into my lap and sit with me. Eventually we let him. I'm just a baby magnet -- what can I say? LOL

So, enjoy this sneak peek. The full gallery isn't far behind.

Don't forget to leave your comments. I am encouraged to post more often if I know there are a bunch of people waiting to read the blog! (hint hint)
